Domain change
On 8 October 2026 I changed the domain of this site from vojtechhron.dev to hron.re. The content stays the same, only the address is different. Here is why.
Mostly because of my name
The main reason is my name. For Czechs, Vojtěch Hron is a perfectly ordinary name, but if you do not speak Czech, it can be hard to pronounce. There is the ě, there is the ch, and in the address it turns into vojtechhron, with two h letters in a row. An address like that is hard to remember for someone from elsewhere, and even harder to type afterwards. hron.re is short and almost anyone can say it.
Why .re
RE stands for reverse engineering, and that fits this site much better than .dev. The .dev domain is really meant for developers, while I mostly take things apart, whether it is a malware sample or some device. So the new address is not just shorter, it finally says what the site is about.
What it means for you
For now both addresses work, so old links and bookmarks will not break. From February 2027 though, vojtechhron.dev will only redirect to hron.re, so please update your bookmarks before then. If you read via RSS, update the feed address too:
The Tor version is not affected, the onion address stays the same.
